The palette
Night, cognac, lavender
Three colors with the same intensity and three different lightness levels: one dark, one medium, one light. Each has a full scale, from tint to text.
Same intensity
The three colors share the same perceived chroma (OKLCH). None shouts louder than the others, which is what makes them work together.
Three lightness levels
Dark 0.38, medium 0.53, light 0.68. A balance of light, dark and neutral, and colors that stay distinct for color-blind readers.
Made for white pages
On white, every signature reaches at least 3:1 and every text color more than 8:1. Lavender is as light as it can be without fading.
